Voices Magazine Spring 2020

For Pacific Oaks' Spring 2020 Voices Magazine issue, I led the magazine layout and design project, with a particular focus on visually narrating the pivotal role of teachers in aiding children to overcome childhood trauma and access proper care from mental health professionals in a safe school environment. Through thoughtful illustration work, we crafted visual narratives that depicted the compassionate support provided by educators, alongside the collaborative efforts with mental health professionals, in fostering healing and resilience among children. Our illustrations served as powerful storytelling tools, conveying the importance of creating nurturing spaces within schools for children to thrive despite adversity. This approach resonated strongly with our audience and industry peers, earning us a prestigious 2020 Eddie & Ozzie Award and numerous honorable mentions for our illustration work.
